Rommel Cave Museum
The Rommel Cave Museum is dedicated to the memory of German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel. Located inside natural caves overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, it served as Rommel's headquarters during part of the El Alamein campaign in World War II. The museum displays military maps, equipment, Rommel's full-length leather coat, his compass, and marked-up battle maps. It was opened in 1977 with support from the West German government, and Rommel's son Manfred donated several belongings.
