Roman Theatre
Roman Theatre is an ancient Roman theater built in the 2nd century AD during the reign of Emperor Antoninus Pius. It seats 6,000 spectators and is carved into the north-facing hillside. It was built on three tiers according to social class: rulers at the bottom, military in the middle, and general public at the top. It's still used today for concerts and cultural events. It also houses the Jordan Folklore Museum and Museum of Popular Traditions. The acoustics are excellent and whispers from the stage can be heard in the upper rows.
