Riyadh Zoo (King Abdulaziz Wildlife Park) is the oldest and largest zoo in the Kingdom, founded in 1957 as a private collection for the royal family and opened to the public in 1987. Spanning 161,000 square meters, it houses over 1,500 animals from 196 different species including endangered ones. Reopened in 2025 after comprehensive renovations as part of Riyadh Season. An excellent educational and entertaining experience for families with shaded areas and modern facilities.
