Rinno-ji Temple
Rinno-ji is Nikko's largest Buddhist temple and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main hall Sanbutsudo ('Three Buddha Pavilion') houses three massive gilded Buddha statues standing 7-8 meters tall: Amida Nyorai, Senju Kannon, and Bato Kannon. The monk Shodo Shonin founded the temple in the 8th century.
