Rideau Hall
Rideau Hall has been the official residence of the Governor General of Canada since 1867. This historic estate spans 79 acres of gardens and manicured grounds. Visitors can explore the formal gardens and walk through the estate grounds. Free guided tours of the residence reveal state rooms and royal Canadian history. State ceremonies are held here including prime ministerial inaugurations and Order of Canada presentations. In winter, the grounds feature a scenic skating rink. Watch for the Ceremonial Guard and Changing of the Guard in summer.
