Ras Mohammed is a national park at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, where the Gulf of Suez meets the Gulf of Aqaba. It's one of the world's best diving and snorkeling destinations.

What is Ras Mohammed

The name means "Mohammed's Cape". The park was established in 1983 as Egypt's first protected natural area. Area — 480 sq.km.

Diving

Ras Mohammed ranks among the world's top 10 dive sites. Reasons: water clarity up to 40 meters, coral diversity, abundant marine life.

Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef — two reefs with vertical walls 700 meters deep. Home to sharks, barracudas, giant groupers.

Eel Garden — hundreds of garden eels on sandy bottom.

Snorkeling

Zones: Aqaba Beach, Main Beach. Corals at shore, depth 2-5 meters. Butterflyfish, angelfish, sea turtles.
