Quartiere Coppede
Quartiere Coppede is a hidden surrealist architectural gem in northern Rome, designed by architect Gino Coppede from 1915-1927. The neighborhood blends Liberty, Art Deco, Baroque, Gothic, and Greek styles into fantastical buildings decorated with gargoyles, mosaics, and mythological motifs. The Fountain of the Frogs in Piazza Mincio is the centerpiece of this dreamlike quarter. A favorite location for film directors, it feels like stepping into a fairy tale far from typical Rome.
