Ulun Danu Bratan Temple
Ulun Danu Bratan Temple is one of Bali's most iconic landmarks, situated on the western shore of volcanic Lake Bratan in the Bedugul highlands. This Hindu-Buddhist temple was built in 1633 to honor the water goddess Dewi Danu. When water levels are high, the temple appears to float on the lake's surface, creating enchanting reflections against the misty Balinese mountain backdrop. It is considered one of the most important water temples in Bali and a symbol of the entire island.
