Presqu'île Lyon
Presqu'île (the peninsula) is the vibrant heart of Lyon, stretching between the Rhône and Saône rivers from Place des Terreaux in the north to the Confluence district in the south. This UNESCO World Heritage site houses over 3,000 shops, magnificent Haussmann-style buildings, and the city's most important squares. The pedestrianized Rue de la République is the main shopping artery, while Rue Président Édouard Herriot offers luxury boutiques. Place Bellecour is one of Europe's largest pedestrian squares, and Place des Terreaux features the famous Bartholdi fountain by the creator of the Statue of Liberty.
