Praia de Faro
Praia de Faro is the main beach of Faro city, a five-kilometer coastal strip offering a unique dual-sided experience: Atlantic waves on one side and calm Ria Formosa lagoon waters on the other. In 2025, a new modern access bridge opened, ending the legendary traffic congestion issues. The beach is well-equipped with lifeguards, restaurants, cafes, surf schools, and water sports rentals. The beach center is lively in summer but walking a short distance reveals nearly deserted stretches.
