Pinacoteca di Brera

Milan's main art gallery with Italian Renaissance masterpieces. Raphael, Caravaggio, Mantegna, Bellini. Famous works: Raphael's 'Marriage of the Virgin', Mantegna's 'Dead Christ', Caravaggio's 'Supper at Emmaus'. Located in historic 17th-century palace in bohemian Brera district.

First Sunday of month — free entry! But huge queues. Best to come at opening 8:30 or after 15:00.

Brera district around museum is bohemian quarter with galleries, vintage shops, and cozy bars. Perfect for a stroll after the museum.
