Phnom Bakheng
Phnom Bakheng is a late 9th-century Hindu temple situated atop a 67-meter hill between Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom. It was the central temple of the first Angkorian capital, Yasodharapura. Famous as the premier sunset-viewing spot in Angkor, offering panoramic views of the jungle and Angkor Wat's towers. The seven-tiered pyramid contains 108 towers symbolizing the four universes and lunar phases. Visitor numbers are limited at sunset to protect the structure.
