Peyto Lake
Peyto Lake is one of Canada's most iconic natural scenes, famous for its unique shape resembling a wolf or fox head. Located at Bow Summit at 2,068 meters elevation, it is the highest point on the scenic Icefields Parkway. The lake's vibrant turquoise color in summer comes from glacial sediments called rock flour. The main viewpoint is accessible via a short 400-meter paved trail from the parking lot, making it wheelchair accessible. The panoramic platform offers sweeping views of the lake, Peyto Glacier, and surrounding peaks.
