Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the world's natural wonders and the main attraction of Los Glaciares National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This massive glacier spans 250 square kilometers and rises 74 meters above Lake Argentino. Unlike most glaciers worldwide, it is constantly advancing, creating a spectacular sight as huge chunks of ice regularly calve into the water in a process called ice rupture.

Visit between November and March (Patagonian summer) for the best weather. Ice calving can happen any time but is more frequent in warmer months. Arrive early to avoid tour group crowds.

The glacier is about 80 km from El Calafate. Several buses run daily (CalTur and Chalten Travel) leaving around 7:30 AM and returning at 7:30 PM. You can also rent a car or book an organized tour.
