Perge Ancient City

Perge is one of the largest ancient cities of Pamphylia, 17 km from Antalya. Roman gates, colonnaded street, stadium, theater — all well preserved. Fewer tourists than Ephesus.

History

Legend says Perge was founded by Greeks after the Trojan War. City flourished under Romans — population up to 100,000. Apostle Paul visited Perge twice.
