Penang Street Art

Penang's famous murals have transformed George Town into an open-air art gallery. It all started in 2012 when Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic painted a series of interactive murals combining painting with 3D elements. The most famous is 'Children on a Bicycle' on Armenian Street, ranked among the world's top 15 murals. Dozens of murals are scattered through narrow lanes, telling stories of traditional life and local culture. Free maps available at hotels and cafes.
