Oxford Botanic Garden
The Oxford Botanic Garden is the oldest botanic garden in the UK, founded in 1621. Covering 1.8 hectares beside the River Cherwell, it houses over 5,000 plant species from around the world. The garden includes tropical glasshouses, a rock garden, water garden, and historic apple orchard. It was a favorite spot of J.R.R. Tolkien and is mentioned in his novels. The peaceful setting offers a perfect escape from the busy city center.
