Olduvai Gorge
Olduvai Gorge, known as the 'Cradle of Mankind', is one of the world's most important paleoanthropological sites. Here Mary and Louis Leakey discovered remains of earliest human ancestors, including 1.8 million-year-old Homo habilis. The new museum (opened 2017) displays fossils, stone tools, and the complete history of discoveries. You can descend into the gorge and visit the actual discovery sites.
