Lake Oeschinen is a hidden gem within the UNESCO World Heritage site 'Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch'. Situated at 1,578 meters, it's surrounded by towering peaks including Blüemlisalp and Doldenhorn. The electric blue water is crystal clear to a depth of 56 meters. Accessible by gondola from Kandersteg then 20-30 minutes walk. In summer, rent rowboats or swim in the cold glacial water. The lake was formed by prehistoric landslides. Note: some trails closed due to rockfall risk.

Best from June to October when gondola operates and snow has melted. Check trail status before visiting as some areas are closed. The water is coldest in early summer but most blue. Summer afternoons can be crowded - arrive early.
