One of Russia's largest zoos with over 11,000 animals of 770 species. Famous for successful breeding of endangered species including snow leopards and Przewalski's horses. Set in a pine forest covering 65 hectares. The mascots are ligers - lion-tiger hybrids.
Metro: Zayeltsovskaya station (Leninskaya line), exit to Timiryazev Street, then 10 minutes walk or bus 45 to Zoo stop. Buses: 45, 4, 12 to Zoo stop. Trolleybuses: 2, 7, 13 to Zayeltsovskaya stop. By taxi you can arrive at the main entrance from Timiryazev Street. Paid parking available.
