Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum
The oldest museum in Nizhny Novgorod, operating across five buildings including one in the Kremlin. The collection features works by great Russian painters such as Repin, Makovsky, Roerich, Borisov-Musatov, Kandinsky, and Malevich, along with a notable collection of European art including works attributed to Lucas Cranach. The main building inside the Kremlin houses the Russian art section. Another building on the Upper Volga embankment is dedicated to European art. Guided tours and regular temporary exhibitions are available. The museum stays open until 20:00 on Thursdays
