New Palace
The New Palace is a magnificent Baroque masterpiece built between 1746 and 1807 as the residence of the Dukes and Kings of Württemberg. It is one of the last great city palaces built in Southern Germany. Its elegant facade facing Schlossplatz creates a majestic royal backdrop. Heavily damaged in WWII, it was rebuilt. Today it houses the Finance and Education ministries and can be visited via pre-arranged tours on special occasions.
