National Museum
The National Museum is the largest museum for art, architecture, and design in the Nordic countries, opened in 2022 in a stunning new waterfront building near Aker Brygge. It houses over 400,000 works spanning from antiquity to contemporary art, including Munch's original version of 'The Scream' and 'Madonna'. The distinctive 'Light Hall' with its glass and marble ceiling creates a unique atmosphere. The museum showcases Norwegian painting, French Impressionism, and contemporary art across numerous permanent and temporary exhibitions.
