National Library of Belarus

The National Library of Belarus is an architectural marvel and one of Minsks most distinctive landmarks. Opened in 2006, the 73.6-meter tall building takes the striking shape of a rhombicuboctahedron — a geometric form resembling a diamond, earning it the nickname Diamond of Knowledge. The glass-paneled facade illuminates 24 hours a day. The library houses over 10 million items, but tourists come primarily for the observation deck on the 23rd floor, offering panoramic views of Minsk and its suburbs via a scenic glass elevator ride.
