Nanzoin Temple
Nanzoin Temple houses the world's largest bronze reclining Buddha statue, depicting Buddha entering Nirvana. Built in 1995, the statue measures 41 meters long, 11 meters tall, and weighs 300 tons. Visitors can enter the statue to view sacred relics of Buddha and his disciples gifted by Myanmar. Nanzoin is the main temple among the 88 temples forming the Sasaguri pilgrimage route, one of Japan's three most famous walking pilgrimages. The temple receives over 1 million visitors annually.
