Museum of Art and History
The Museum of Art and History is Geneva's largest museum, with collections spanning over 15,000 years of human history. Built in 1910, it displays artifacts from Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt, paintings from the Renaissance to modern art, applied arts, and historical weapons. Highlights include a colossal statue of Pharaoh Ramses II, works by Rembrandt and Modigliani, medieval armor, and Coptic textiles. The permanent collection is free.
