Mount Victoria
Mount Victoria is Wellington's most famous lookout point, rising to 196 meters and offering 360-degree panoramic views of the city, harbor, and surrounding mountains. The site was historically used by Māori as a lookout point and is now a popular destination for watching sunrises and sunsets. The summit can be reached by car or via pleasant walking trails through the town belt forest. The location also gained fame as a filming location for 'Lord of the Rings'. On clear days, the South Island can be seen across Cook Strait.
