Mount Elbrus is Europe's highest peak (5,642 m) and one of the famous Seven Summits. This dormant volcano with twin ice-capped peaks dominates the Caucasus Mountains. A modern three-stage cable car system lifts visitors to 3,847 m elevation, making it accessible to non-climbers. In winter it transforms into a ski resort with 12 km of trails.
