Mount Dakrur is a triple-peaked mountain 3 km southeast of Siwa, offering stunning panoramic views over the oasis and hundreds of thousands of palm trees. Famous for therapeutic sand baths used to treat rheumatism and joint pain from July to September. Every October, locals celebrate the Tourism Feast during the full moon.

The process involves digging holes in the sand in the morning and letting them warm under the sun. In the afternoon, patients are buried up to the neck with a small tent shading the face.
