Mount Batur is an active volcano standing at 1,717 meters, one of Bali's most popular natural attractions. Famous for sunrise treks where hikers start around 4 AM to catch the sunrise with views of the crater Lake Batur and neighboring Mount Abang. After descending, visitors can relax in the natural hot springs.

Mount Batur is 60 km from Ubud (1.5-2 hours drive). Most tourists book overnight tour with sunrise trek. Departure from hotel around 2:00 AM, cost 35-50 USD including guide, breakfast, and transfer. By own car drive to Toya Bungkah village, paid parking. Self-guided trek not recommended. Ascent takes 1.5-2 hours.
