The Montreal Biodome is a unique living museum featuring five ecosystems of the Americas under one roof. You can walk from the tropical rainforest to the Laurentian maple forest, then to the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Sub-Antarctic Islands where penguins live. The building was originally built for the 1976 Olympics and converted to a biodome in 1992. It houses over 250 animal species.
