Modiano Market is Thessaloniki's most famous covered market, designed by Jewish architect Eli Modiano in 1930 in Art Deco style. After decades of decline, the market underwent a full restoration and reopened in December 2022 as a modern destination blending tradition and innovation. It houses 75 shops selling fresh produce, meat, seafood, cheese, and spices, alongside balcony restaurants, cafes, a zero-waste bar, and co-working spaces.
