Milford Track is New Zealand's most famous multi-day hike and one of the world's best, spanning 53.5 km through the stunning alpine scenery of Fiordland National Park (UNESCO World Heritage site). The 4-day journey passes through temperate rainforest, glacial valleys, the famous Mackinnon Pass (1,154m), and Sutherland Falls (580m - New Zealand's highest). Hut bookings must be made months in advance during Great Walks season (late October-April). The track is one-way only and hikers must complete it in the allocated time.
