Mellah - Jewish Quarter
The Mellah is the historic Jewish quarter of Marrakech founded in 1557, bearing a rich history of centuries of coexistence between Muslims and Jews. The main square (Tinsmiths Square) features a vibrant market selling spices, textiles, and traditional crafts. The neighborhood houses important landmarks including the 15th-century Lazama Synagogue and the old Jewish cemetery. It is also an excellent destination for cheap street food where you can get a full meal for just a few dirhams.
