Medina Azahara is the ruins of a 10th-century palace-city built by Caliph Abd ar-Rahman III as the new capital of the Umayyad Caliphate. It is Spain's largest archaeological site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2018. The excavations reveal the splendor of Islamic art and architecture.
