Manoa Falls Trail is one of Oahu's top waterfall hikes and among the best near Waikiki. The 1.8-mile (2.9 km) round-trip trail winds through lush Hawaiian tropical rainforest to a stunning 150-foot (46 m) waterfall. The area served as a filming location for Jurassic Park and Lost.
Trail is free. Parking lot $5. You can also take Bus #5 or park on residential streets and walk 1/4 mile.

No, swimming is not allowed in the pool at the base of the waterfall. There's risk of falling rocks and leptospirosis bacteria. Enjoy the views from behind the viewing area cable.
The trail is moderately challenging and takes about 1 hour. After 2021 reconstruction, it's easier to navigate with hardened, more stable surfaces. Watch for mud and slippery sections, especially after rain. Wear shoes with good grip.
