Machu Picchu Citadel
Machu Picchu is the legendary Inca citadel hidden in the Andes at 2,430 meters. Built in the 15th century as a royal retreat for Emperor Pachacuti, it is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city features temples, agricultural terraces, and exceptionally preserved residential buildings. Rediscovered by American explorer Hiram Bingham in 1911, it remains one of the most iconic archaeological sites on Earth.
