Best Time to Visit

Early morning (before 9 AM) for soft lighting and fewer crowds, or late afternoon (after 3 PM) for golden hour photography. Avoid 10 AM - 2 PM when tour groups arrive. March to May offers the best weather. The river is beautiful year-round.

How to Get There

Located 20 minutes by motorbike from General Luna along the Siargao Circumferential Road. Rent a scooter (₱350-400/day) or hire a habal-habal (₱150-200 one way). Look for the iconic red bridge - that's the entrance. Also included in many Siargao land tours (₱800-1,200).

What to Expect

Expect a scenic river setting surrounded by coconut palms. The main attraction is the new jumping platform (replacing the famous rope swing destroyed by typhoon) with multiple heights - great for adrenaline seekers. Kayak or canoe rides (₱600 for 3 people) let you paddle through the palm-lined river for stunning photos. The water is refreshing and deep enough for swimming. Basic facilities available. Bring waterproof bags for cameras.

faq.subtitle Maasin River

Unfortunately, the iconic bent coconut palm with the rope swing was destroyed by Typhoon Odette in December 2021. However, the area has been revitalized with a new man-made jumping platform featuring multiple heights, offering a similar thrill for visitors. The river, kayaking, and beautiful scenery remain unchanged.
