Lucerne Town Hall
The Town Hall (Rathaus) is a magnificent Italian Renaissance building constructed between 1602-1606. It features a distinctive Swiss-style hipped roof and a prominent clock tower. The building sits on the bank of the Reuss River by Kornmarkt, where grain markets were historically held. Under the arcades, a farmers' market still takes place weekly. Inside are a historic meeting hall and city archive. The building can be viewed from outside at any time.
