Los Gigantes Cliffs
Los Gigantes Cliffs are massive volcanic rock walls rising 600 to 800 meters straight from the Atlantic Ocean on Tenerife's western coast. These dramatic cliffs are among the most impressive geological formations in the Canary Islands and create a majestic panorama viewable from both land and sea. Daily whale and dolphin watching boat tours depart from Los Gigantes harbor with a sighting rate exceeding 95 percent. The area also marks the famous endpoint of the Masca Gorge trail, which finishes at a small beach at the base of the cliffs. Sea caves and rock formations can be explored by small boats or kayaks. The sunset view is spectacular as the cliffs turn golden and red. The harbor area offers restaurants and cafes with cliff views, making it a perfect spot to end a day of exploration.
