Library of Celsus
The Library of Celsus is one of the most impressive structures of the ancient world, built in 117 AD as a monument to Roman Senator Tiberius Julius Celsus. It was the third-largest library in the ancient world after Alexandria and Pergamum, holding 12,000 scrolls. The stunningly reconstructed 21-meter facade is the iconic image of Ephesus, featuring statues representing Wisdom, Knowledge, Intelligence, and Virtue.
