Lake Burley Griffin
Lake Burley Griffin is the heart of Canberra, a man-made lake spanning 6.64 square kilometers that forms the centerpiece of the city's design. Named after American architect Walter Burley Griffin who designed Canberra, the lake offers 40km of walking and cycling paths along its shoreline. Activities include boating, kayaking, fishing, and swimming in designated areas. The lake is surrounded by many of Canberra's key cultural sites including the National Library, National Gallery, and Parliament House, making it an ideal starting point for exploring the capital's attractions while enjoying scenic waterfront views.
