Lake Bohinj
Lake Bohinj is Slovenia's largest natural permanent lake, located in the heart of Triglav National Park surrounded by the peaks of the Julian Alps. Unlike its more famous neighbor Bled, Bohinj retains a quieter, more local feel even during peak season. The emerald waters are clear and warm enough for swimming in summer (22-24°C). Activities include stand-up paddling, kayaking, hiking, and taking the cable car to Mount Vogel for stunning alpine views. The impressive Savica Waterfall and Mostnica Gorge are nearby highlights worth combining with a lake visit.
