La Orotava Historic Town
La Orotava is one of the most beautiful historic towns in the Canary Islands, set in a fertile valley on the slopes of Mount Teide. The old town is filled with aristocratic mansions from the 17th and 18th centuries featuring traditional carved wooden balconies. Casa de los Balcones is the most famous landmark with its authentic Canarian balconies and beautiful interior courtyard. The Victoria Botanical Gardens house tropical and subtropical plants in a stunning multi-level design. The town is world-famous for its flower and volcanic sand carpets during the Corpus Christi celebrations in June. Steep cobblestone streets, baroque churches, and quiet plazas make it an ideal destination for photography and cultural walks. The valley setting with views toward Teide and the ocean creates one of Tenerife's most photogenic backdrops.
