Kuwohi (Clingmans Dome)
Kuwohi (formerly known as Clingmans Dome) is the highest peak in Great Smoky Mountains National Park at 6,643 feet, the highest point in Tennessee, and the highest point on the Appalachian Trail. The name was officially changed in September 2024 to the Cherokee name meaning 'mulberry place'. The 45-foot observation tower built in 1959 offers panoramic views stretching 100 miles on clear days. A half-mile steep paved trail leads from the parking lot to the tower.
