Kornmarkt Square is one of Heidelberg's most beautiful squares, offering the best castle views from the Old Town. Named after the historic grain market that was held here. At its center stands the baroque Madonna Fountain from 1718. This is where the lower station of the funicular to the castle and mountaintop is located. The square is an ideal starting point for exploring the Old Town and Hauptstraße shopping district, with surrounding cafes and restaurants offering great views.
