Koh Ma is a small island connected to Mae Haad Beach on Koh Phangan by a natural sandbar. At low tide, you can walk to the island on white sand surrounded by turquoise water on both sides — a truly magical experience. The surrounding area is the best snorkeling spot on Koh Phangan with colorful corals and diverse fish just 30 meters from shore.
Snorkel equipment rental available on beach (around 100 baht). Be aware of currents, especially during tide changes.
High tide (mornings or late afternoon) for best snorkeling. Low tide to walk the sandbar. December to March for best conditions.

You can walk to Koh Ma when the tide is low. Check local tide tables — usually possible for a few hours around lowest tide. You may need to wade through knee-deep water at some times.
