Generally no - German law restricts Sunday shopping. However, Stuttgart has 4 designated shopping Sundays per year (verkaufsoffene Sonntage), usually in spring, summer, autumn, and before Christmas. Restaurants, cafes, and bakeries may open. The main train station has shops open on Sundays due to traveler exception.

The street is served by two main U-Bahn stations: Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof (main train station) at the north end, and Schlossplatz at the south end. S-Bahn lines also stop at Hauptbahnhof and Stadtmitte. From the airport, take S2 or S3 to Hauptbahnhof (about 30 minutes).
