Knez Mihailova Street

Knez Mihailova is Belgrades main pedestrian and shopping street, protected as a cultural monument since 1979. This 800-meter promenade connects Republic Square to Kalemegdan Fortress, lined with elegant 19th-century buildings housing shops, cafes, and cultural institutions. Named after Prince Mihailo Obrenovic III, it has been a car-free zone since 1987 and is considered one of the most beautiful pedestrian streets in Southeast Europe.
