Kilmainham Gaol

Kilmainham Gaol is one of Irelands most important historical sites, a former prison that held many of the leaders of Irish rebellions from 1798 to 1924. The leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising were executed here, making it a powerful symbol of Irish nationalism. The haunting Victorian prison with its iconic East Wing is now a museum offering guided tours through cells, corridors, and the execution yard where Irish history was made.
